WEDNESDAY · THE RECLAIMING

There is a moment, usually in the car, when it is just you.

The radio is off or tuned to something you did not choose, and the quiet feels like it has been there a very long time.

You used to have music. Not background noise or a playlist someone else started, but music that was yours, that you played because it did something to you that nothing else could.

You knew the albums front to back. You had songs you returned to when you were sad, songs that made you drive a little faster, songs that felt like they had been written about your exact life.

That was not a small thing. That was a woman who knew what moved her.

It went away gradually. The car started playing whatever the kids needed to hear, the kitchen played whatever kept the peace, and your headphones gathered dust because there was never a moment that belonged to just your ears.

After a while, you stopped putting anything on at all. Silence became the default, not the kind you choose but the kind that arrives when no one asks what you want to hear.

I pooped INSTANTLY thanks to this Japanese “black candy”

Japanese doctors just proved that this "black candy" UNCLOGS your bowels...

Allowing you to poop out up to 21lbs in 14 days. No fiber needed.

In fact:

> It’s 3x better than prunes or Metamucil.

> Harvard is studying it…

> And just 2 of these "mysterious candies" a day can quickly END your constipation and bloating...

Ready to poop out fat like clockwork?

What disappears along with the music is a direct line to how you actually feel. Music never asked you to explain: it just met you where you were.

You probably still know every lyric to songs you have not heard in a decade. That knowledge did not leave, it is sitting in some quiet corner of you, waiting for the first few notes.

It is the same knowing as your favorite season. Still in there, just never asked for.

The path back is not complicated. It is one song.

Today, at some point, put on a song you used to love. Not for the house, not while doing something else to justify it, just for you.

Play it in the car with the windows up. Play it in your headphones sitting on the edge of the bed.

You do not need a reason or the right mood. The song will find the mood for you, the way it always did.

THE RECLAMATION LIST

Things worth remembering you love:

  • The song that made you rewind to the beginning before it was even finished.

  • The artist whose voice felt like a conversation with someone who understood.

  • The album you listened to so many times the track order lives in your bones.

  • The act of pressing play on something chosen purely because it sounds like your life.

THE QUESTION TO SIT WITH

If I could hear one song right now, the first one that surfaces without thinking, what is it?
